- Whoopi Goldberg, who famously once collapsed over a topic about Bennifer, struggled through a *View* chat about Timothée Chalamet's love life.

- "Thank God," Goldberg said when the topic was over.

- Guest Josh Charles later laughed as he pointed out that Goldberg "couldn't take" the prior discussion.

It wasn't quite a full Whoopi Goldberg collapse in the face of a looming bout with Bennifer, but the Oscar-winning actress still struggled to get through yet another Hot Topics discussion about celebrity romance on *The View*.

The show's first episode of 2026 included a special segment that saw the cohosts analyzing Timothée Chalamet's Critics Choice Awards acceptance speech, in which the *Marty Supreme* star publicly acknowledged his relationship with Kylie Jenner — which Goldberg said some people have speculated could "spell bad luck" for the future.

"It made me nervous. It made me nervous," panelist Sunny Hostin repeated during the discussion, while the camera cut to a shot of all five cohosts seated at the table — with Goldberg's head resting in her hands, as it often does when she's not interested in participating in the on-air conversation.**

Hostin speculated that "they're clearly in love," but reiterated that she's nervous about the couple making such a public confirmation of their feelings.

"A declaration of love to the world, I don't know, it makes me nervous," Hostin said later in the conversation, with Ana Navarro repeating Hostin's name as a reminder that she once said at the Hot Topics table that she felt that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had found true love with one another when they rekindled their romance — though they ultimately separated shortly thereafter.

"J.Lo was in love. That was true love," Hostin doubled down, while the program's transitional music played overhead. The camera then cut to an exasperated Goldberg, who lifted her head from her palm to say "Thank God" in reaction to the song ending the segment, before throwing the show to a commercial break.

Later, amid speaking about his own wife, interview guest Josh Charles joked about Goldberg's disdain for the previous topic.

"I'm not going full Chalamet here. We've been married a long time," he said. "I don't need Whoopi to have to cut if off again, I know she couldn't take that!"

Goldberg laughed as she confirmed she definitely wasn't feeling the conversation.

"Lastly, I'd just say thank you to my partner of three years, thank you for our foundation, I love you," Chalamet said Sunday nigh, as he accepted his award, with the camera cutting to Jenner as he spoke. "I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

*The View* airs weekdays on ABC.
