Sophie Turner is turning a new leaf ahead of her upcoming milestone birthday.
The actress, 29, appeared on CBS Mornings on Wednesday, Jan. 7, to discuss what she has in store for 2026. In addition to some exciting projects, including leading the new Prime Video series Steal, co-host Gayle King pointed out that Turner is also turning 30 in February.
“I’m wondering how you’re feeling about it,” King, 71, said. “Your life is just getting started, you’re now a mother of two, you went through a high-profile divorce, come out the other side.”
“Yeah,” acknowledged Turner, who was married to Joe Jonas for four years until he filed for divorce in September 2023.
The split quickly took a turn when Turner sued the singer, 36, for wrongful retention of their daughters — Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3 — claiming that he was withholding their passports and not permitting them to return to her in England. She later dropped the lawsuit, and the former couple reached a settlement agreement in September 2024, although the terms are confidential.

“You really do seem to be thriving,” King told the Game of Thrones alum. “As you get ready to turn 30, what do you think about your life?”
While the journalist further noted that she thought it was “so cool” when she was 30, she recognized that others can “feel very depressed by it.”
“Not me, not me,” Turner replied. “I’m so looking forward to it. In the run-up to my 30th, I’ve been really doing a lot of self-work, because I want to enter this new chapter of my life really confident in myself. I want to know myself as well as I can. So I’ve been doing a hell of a lot of therapy the past few months, and now I feel really ready to go into my 30s.”

King went on to commend Turner for a message she shared on her Instagram Stories last month, which highlighted the power of reflection and change.
“Life really is just a series of endings and beginnings. On a loop. Every up and down comes at a point in this cycle,” King read aloud. “'Perhaps embracing the start of something new must be balanced with accepting the reality of something coming to an end. The sooner we realize this — and welcome it — the better we process our experiences and we see life is working for us, not against us.”
The note, which Turner revealed was written by her “best friend” Tabitha Doherty, continued: “Adversity (emotional, physical, or psychological) brings strength of character for the next challenge. So as you feel the heaviness of an ending — remember that the joy of a new beginning is just around the corner.”
When asked what is on her bucket list for the next decade of life, Turner shared that she hopes to both “work a lot” and also find time to enjoy “a bit of peace and quiet.”
“I’m really looking forward to just spending time with my kids,” she added. “Going to the playground, taking them to museums. Really entering a calm phase of my life.”
