Rams inch closer to inevitable Aaron Donald reunion

The biggest perceived threat to the Seattle Seahawks' ability to successfully defend their Super Bowl 60 title is in their own division. The Los Angeles Rams, who the Seahawks defeated in the NFC Championship Game, have had one heckuva offseason. Now, the Rams are getting closer to reuniting with retired defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

The Seahawks beat the Rams 31-27 in the NFC Championship Game. The Rams responded by having an unfathomable offseason. They traded for superstar EDGE Myles Garrett and No. 1 cornerback Trent McDuffie. Now, Donald appears interested in coming out of retirement to join this stacked defense and play for the Rams again.

Donald has been flirting with un-retiring ever since the Rams traded for Garrett. On Wednesday, the Rams officially worked out Donald at their facility, according to various reports. The workout was submitted to the league's office.

Donald is often considered the greatest defensive player of all time. He retired prematurely, when he was still clearly playing his best football. He's likely no longer as effective as he once was, but the Rams would still be beyond thrilled to pair him with Garrett on a dreamy defensive line. If Donald officially un-retires, the Seahawks will have to gameplan for playing him multiple times a year.
