Rachel Bilson celebrated the 15th anniversary of Hart of Dixie and reflected on being pregnant during the final season

Bilson shared that filming while pregnant created special memories and allowed her to document that time for her daughter

She clarified her pregnancy was not the reason for the show's cancellation and expressed love for the feel-good series

Rachel Bilson still has love for Hart of Dixie. Catching up with PEOPLE at Pluto TV's Hart of Dixie 15th Anniversary Celebration in Hollywood on June 10, Bilson, 44, talked about the anniversary and reminisced about being pregnant during the show.

Reflecting on the 15th anniversary, Bilson says, "I just can't believe it."

"I think I was 29 or something, and it's pretty bizarre. The coolest part is that I was pregnant with my daughter, the fourth season, so I get to see that, and that's such a nice memory. But I just love that the show still resonates with people and people want to watch it, and it feels good," the actress shares.

Thinking back to being pregnant with her daughter, Briar Rose Christensen, while filming the show's fourth and final season, she shares, "I love it."

"I remember working up until 37 weeks, and I had a chair for my feet because they were so hot and so swollen in the summer. But I love that I can show her that, and it's really nice. I don't have many pictures pregnant either, so it's kind of nice to have it documented in the show," Bilson says.

Hart of Dixie was a feel-good show about Bilson's character, Dr. Zoe Hart, who moves from New York to Bluebell, Ala. In addition to Bilson, the show featured Jaime King, Scott Porter and Wilson Bethel. The show ran from 2011 to 2015, ending after four seasons.

Bilson calls the show "a feel-good show."

"It's a nice escape. So this little town and these characters, and nothing's too heavy or scary or gory. It's just like a nice escape, and I think that's what makes people feel like it's so comfy."

Bilson says she believes her character Zoe would still be with her on-screen love interest Wade (Bethel), "because what a bummer if not."

"But I don't know. I think that they've been through a lot. I don't think it was ever boring," Bilson shares.

It was rumored that the show was canceled because of Bilson's pregnancy, but in 2020, the actress posted a throwback photo from the set of Hart of Dixie and cleared up rumors surrounding the show's cancellation.

"Just wanted to clear something up, the cancellation of HOD had nothing to do with me or my pregnancy," she captioned a behind-the-scenes Instagram shot. "I loved my show and loved playing Zoe Hart, thanks to everyone who watched."
