Perez Hilton stated that he "privately" reached out to A-listers such as Britney Spears and Khloé Kardashian to apologize for his merciless coverage of their lives in the weeks leading up to his harrowing self-harm livestream.

“I’ve made amends, or tried to, with a lot of people,” Perez told Sean Hannity during an episode of “Hang Out With Sean Hannity” that was recorded July 14 and released on Thursday. He stated that he "reached out to them privately." "I mean, I even reached out to Britney Spears," he said.

The 48-year-old added, “I reached out to Khloé Kardashian, and she responded back,” he added, noting that the reality star “was very kind.” This comes as Perez's family confirmed that his children were in the home and fled after "witnessing trauma."

“Well, I’m sorry, right here, right now,” the gossip blogger said in the interview.

Perez was recently hospitalized following a livestream he uploaded to TikTok, in which he was seen seemingly nude and cutting himself with a weapon repeatedly.

In the video, Perez also appeared to be covered in a red substance as viewers begged him to stop and called for help. Emergency responders and mental health professionals soon intervened.

An insider, who has been a close friend to the Perez family for 20 years, told the Daily Mail, "He's really suffering. He's a man in a lot of pain. I think right now he's focused on the physical, but it's all tied together. No one deserves the torment he's going through. He was able to articulate himself [to his mother in hospital], but I don't think he's quite self-aware enough yet [to understand exactly what happened]."

The interview with Sean Hannity also dove into Perez Hilton's thoughts about cancel culture. The gossip blogger noted that Nick Cannon's perspective "resonated" with him a lot.

“He said, ‘counsel culture’, not ‘cancel culture,'” he said, adding that he himself was “cancelled so many times.”

“Like, you can’t cancel me anymore,” he quipped.

Sean questioned Perez about his past methods of coverage, including "mocking celebrities’ bodies and appearances, speculating about sexuality," asking him if he engages in them anymore.

Perez responded with a straight, "No."

“Because I realized what I was doing was wrong,” he added. “[I realized] that I could still be fun, but I don’t have to be so cheap, and I don’t have to be so cruel.”

The blogger's family shared that just minutes before his harrowing livestream, his children, niece, and sister were inside the home. Perez has three children including his son Mario, 13, and daughters Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight, who were born via surrogate.
