Minnie Driver reveals she was in a ‘really bad car accident’ in France

Minnie Driver was involved in a “really bad car accident” in France.
The actress revealed that her friend’s car collided with another vehicle that hadn’t stopped at an intersection.
She received “a sprained neck” from the incident and said she’s “really in shock.”
Minnie Driver is “grateful to be alive” after getting into a car accident in France.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, the 56-year-old actress detailed the harrowing incident while lying on her side in bed with a brace fastened around her neck.
“Hi guys, Paris update is that I’m actually back in London,” Driver began. “I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend Ben and we somehow walked out of it. Well, we didn’t walk out of it. We crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive.”

The Good Will Hunting star clarified that the collision was “not our fault,” adding, “We were driving on a country road in the middle of France and a car didn’t stop at an intersection and was going at speed and we just T-boned it.”
She also gave an update on her health. “I’m fine,” she said. “I’ve got a sprained neck and I’m really in shock and sort of cry all the time, but I’m gonna heal. The reason that I’m not dead, honestly, is the car we were driving.”
Driver explained that they were driving a Kia EV2 when the accident occurred and claimed its airbags “are what saved our lives” during the crash.

“I want to celebrate that car. I’m Minnie Driver, pun intended, I need to celebrate the car that saved us,” she said. “Because we’ve got families and people who love us and I am so grateful to be alive, so, Kia, you are a baller car company. You’re amazing.”

Alongside her note, Driver’s video also included a series of photos taken after the accident that showcased the crushed front of the car. Another snapshot showed her and Ben, also in a neck brace, walking together in what appeared to be a hospital.
Driver went on to thank an individual who “stopped and helped us before the ambulances arrived” in her post’s caption — as well as another who “slowed down took in the scene and drove off without stopping” to make sure they were okay.
“My brain keeps replaying the crash which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing,” she wrote. “Weeping too, feels good and helpful. Thank you to my friends, my family, all the people at work and especially my friend Ben and his family. I love you.”
Prior to the accident, Driver had been chronicling her Parisian holiday on Instagram. Her previous post depicted her enjoying a sweet crepe while walking around the city.
