- Mike Myers says *Austin Powers 4* is happening.
- The comedian just played Dr. Evil again in a new ad.
- The last Austin Powers film was 2002's *Goldmember*.
Austin Powers is coming back, baby!
It's been almost 25 years since the last installment of the shagadelic franchise, but Mike Myers just casually confirmed that a fourth film is in the works.
Myers was a guest on Tuesday's *Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party*, and when asked by Noah if there would be another *Austin Powers*, Myers simply replied, "Yes."
And in the great timing department, Myers revived his iconic *Austin Powers* villain Dr. Evil this week in a new Verizon commercial, which also featured Seth Green, Mindy Sterling, and Rob Lowe reprising their roles.
Written by Myers and directed by Jay Roach, 1997's *Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery *starred Myers as the titular groovy British super agent and his nemesis, Dr. Evil. For the 1999 sequel, *The Spy Who Shagged Me*, Myers put even more on his plate by creating his latest character: the morbidly obese Scottish henchman, Fat Bastard.
After the modest success of *Man of Mystery*, the second film was a monster hit, grossing more than $300 million at the global box office (compared to the original's $67 million). *Goldmember* matched its predecessor's performance in 2002, and introduced Myers' latest creation, a gold-hungry Dutch supervillain named Goldmember.

Myers has long teased the possibility of returning to the *Powers* Universe, telling ** in 2019 of a fourth movie, "We are hoping to do it and we are working on making it a reality."
Considering the recent success of legacy sequels to favorites from the late '90s and early 2000s, an *Austin Powers 4* with *Goldmember* star Beyoncé might make one hundred billion dollars.
