- Former *The View* cohost Meghan McCain slammed Jimmy Kimmel in a social media post.

- McCain called Kimmel a "mean, heartless bastard" and criticized him for crying on TV.

- "The day he is off air will be a better day for the country," McCain said.

Meghan McCain's acid tongue is dripping with criticism for late-night host — and longtime Donald Trump critic — Jimmy Kimmel.

The former *View* cohost and daughter of the late Sen. John McCain lashed out at Kimmel Wednesday online, after the *Jimmy Kimmel Live* host mocked former reality star and one-time Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt's bid for office.

"Jimmy Kimmel is a mean, heartless bastard and no amount of on air crying will convince me or anyone else otherwise," McCain said of Kimmel, who has long traded public jabs with Trump.

Kimmel has also gotten visibly emotional on his show in the past, including over his son's congenital heart condition.

In her blistering criticism, McCain finished by telling her followers, "The day he is off air will be a better day for the country." (* *has reached out to representatives for Kimmel for a response to McCain's criticism.)

Earlier in her career as a conservative commentator, McCain staunchly opposed Trump and his politics. She has, recently, changed her tune, and has voiced support for him — despite, as she previously criticized, the president mocking her later father, who died from brain cancer in 2018.

Now, McCain's words about Kimmel echo similar sentiments voiced by Trump, after the president has said on several occasions that he wants ABC to fire the talk show host.

Earlier this year, McCain revealed that she attended a White House confirmation ceremony for her friend, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, after she said she had to get Trump's "permission" to attend.

"The second President Trump term, I much prefer it. I really like the tone of President Trump this go-around for all of the personal reasons everyone can already surmise," McCain told Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, on an episode of her *Citizen McCain* talk show.

"Of course, this is my home, but you are welcome in it," McCain said, paraphrasing what she said Trump told her after she requested to come to Gabbard's ceremony. "And then, afterwards, [he said] a private message I don't want to reveal because it's private to me and my husband afterward that was very kind and very nice."

In addition to Kimmel, McCain also has beef with fellow talk show host Seth Meyers over a 2019 interview she did with him on his* Late Night* show, which she called "one of the worst experiences of my life," adding that it was "a horrific experience" and that Meyers "can go to hell forever."
