The internet is buzzing with celebrity mom group drama, and Mandy Moore just made her loyalties crystal clear. The This Is Us star publicly praised Hilary Duffās husband Matthew Koma after he threw some serious shade at Ashley Tisdale over her recent essay about leaving a ātoxicā mom group.
The drama kicked off when Ashley Tisdale penned a revealing essay for The Cut, describing her experience with an allegedly unsupportive group of celebrity moms. While Tisdale didnāt name names, fans quickly connected the dots after spotting old photos of her with Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor. The High School Musical alum wrote about feeling excluded from group hangouts, explaining she was āleft out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story.ā
Things escalated quickly when Matthew Koma decided to clap back. The Winnetka Bowling League musician posted a mock version of Tisdaleās essay cover on Instagram, complete with a pointed headline reading: āWhen Youāre The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.ā He added a subheadline stating āA Mom Group Tell All Through A Fatherās Eyes.ā Ouch.
Thatās where Mandy Moore stepped in to show her support. On January 7th, marking the first anniversary of the LA wildfires that destroyed her home, Moore gave Matthew Koma a heartfelt shoutout on Instagram Stories. She called him āone [of] the most talented and generous humans Iām lucky to know.ā Even more touching, she revealed: āHe literally gave my family a place to stay one year ago today when we evacuated.ā
Meanwhile, sources told Us Weekly that the mom group members feel āblindsided and hurt by Ashley speaking out the way she did.ā According to insiders, āFrom their perspective, they believed the group was supportive and coming from a good place, and they never thought there was any bad intent behind how things played out.ā

The Sun reported that tensions arose because some members felt Tisdale had become increasingly āself-absorbed,ā with one source claiming, āIt was impossible to maintain a friendship with her since it was so one-sided.ā They also suggested that Ashleyās response to the LA wildfires might have been the final straw, considering multiple mom group members were directly affected, including Mandy Moore, who lost her home.
For her part, Ashley Tisdaleās representative denied that the essay was about any specific celebrities and also shot down rumors that political differences caused the rift. Still, the internet isnāt buying it, especially after fans noticed Tisdale unfollowed both Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff on Instagram.
Even Chelsea Handler weighed in on the drama, telling Page Six Radio: āI have no idea what went on, but I know Mandy Moore, and sheās a wonderful, sweet person.ā

With Mandy Moore publicly backing Matthew Koma and Hilary Duff remaining silent on the matter, itās clear where the lines have been drawn in this celebrity mom group showdown. The drama continues to unfold as fans eagerly await any further responses from the parties involved.
