- Radio analyst Monica McNutt is thanking New York Knicks MVP Jalen Brunson for defending her against Swifties.

- The NBA broadcaster questioned Taylor Swift's allegiance to the Knicks last week, stirring controversy among fans.

- McNutt called Brunson the "King of New York" and said to Swift's fans, "We good."

Monica McNutt is singing the praises of her, and New York City's, captain: Jalen Brunson.

McNutt took to Instagram to thank Brunson after the New York Knicks MVP defended the radio analyst against Taylor Swift fans after she questioned the singer's allegiance to the team.

"King of New York, we good over here. 😉😝," McNutt wrote on an Instagram Story over a video of her and Brunson's post-NBA Finals interview.

When a friend noted that she loved watching McNutt shine, "and cause a little chaos," the basketball broadcaster claimed, "You know I love a little commotion 🤗."

Commotion is definitely what she stirred when McNutt saw Swift in Madison Square Garden for Game 4 of the NBA Finals last week. After noticing the pop star in "Celebrity Row," McNutt remarked to her colleague Tyler Murray, "Is that Taylor Swift down there? … She's not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl."

Swifties came for McNutt and jumped at the chance to disprove her opinion — sharing photographic evidence of the singer's Knicks fandom over the past 12 years. Soon enough, McNutt walked back her comments during a chat with *TMZ*.

"Swifties, I appreciate your passion. I said what I said," McNutt said, addressing the backlash. "And here's the deal, if I'm wrong — and I am wrong, apparently, because she's got an OG Amar'e Stoudemire jersey. I misspoke, I did not know."

McNutt noted that she hadn't seen Swift at any game over the last two years or so, but was impressed to learn that the "Cardigan" singer remained a fan during some low points with the team, including the "Stoudemire era" in 2014, which saw the Knicks finish with a 17-65 record.

"So shout out to her because that means she's been in the trenches," McNutt praised.

Taylor Swift was everywhere this week

Despite her apology, McNutt's words still floated around the Taylorsphere. So, like any good buddy would, Brunson attempted to silence the negativity.

"I just want to say something to the Swifties," Brunson said in his post-championship interview with McNutt over the weekend for MSG Networks. He gestured to her, adding, "She's a really good one. Cut her some slack. It's all good, I promise."

Brunson and the Knicks broke a 53-year championship drought on Saturday when they won Game 5 of the NBA Finals, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 4-1. The newly crowned NBA Champions celebrated with several die-hard celebrity fans, including Timothée Chalamet, Spike Lee, and Ben Stiller.

McNutt was at the game in San Antonio to witness the team's historic victory.

"There is noting like the love letter that an organization has an opportunity to write to its fans and to its cities quite like winning a championship. Enjoy it Knicks fans, enjoy it Knicks nation. Signed, sealed, and delivered [by] your 2026 New York Knicks," she exclaimed with tears in her eyes.
