Jon Bernthal is sharing the secret to his 15-year marriage.

During an interview with Esquire last month, the 49-year-old actor revealed the key to his long-lasting relationship with his wife, Erin Angle. He stressed the importance of winning each other over and always supporting one another.

"My marriage with her, it's very aspirational," Bernthal told Esquire Editor-in-Chief Michael Sebastian. "Like, I'm still begging her to go out with me, begging her to hang out with me."

The Walking Dead alum gushed that his wife, whom he wed in September 2010, is "the sexiest one out there for me."

"She's the one. I mean, I know what it's like to not have her. I know what I am without her, and it just doesn't work," he said. "I think it's easy to start going down a road of, like, 'I need this,' or 'I need that.' And, honestly, I do think about, like, masculinity a lot, and I know there's such a plight right now for boys. I know it's really hard being a boy, a young man right now.
I know it's very hard."

He continued, "But I think part of it — and maybe I'll get in trouble for this — is sometimes you gotta shut the f--- up, man. Like, turn that s--- off and be there for the people you love.
Like, that's a real part of it."

Bernthal loves being someone his wife can depend on.

"There are things that my wife depends on me to be, and I love being those things," he said. "Like, when I can be those things, and when I'm not those things, it doesn't work, you know?"

The His & Hers star continued, "And I think that a marriage is a genuine partnership, and it's up to you to keep dating each other, and to keep being friends, and to acknowledge the growth in each other. But mostly, you know, it's you got to be there. You just got to be there, and you got to be the thing that the other person really needs, and you can't put yourself first. Like, that's the oath you took."
