The pair of actors were seen in casual street attire on set of the new project from Canadian writer-director Sofia Banzhaf.

O'Brien donned a relaxed pinstripe blazer over a black shirt and black jeans, while Williams sported a pair of khakis and a sage green windbreaker.

Apparatus, described as a "taut psychological thriller," follows "a struggling ride-share driver [Tyler] who believes his fortunes have changed when he encounters JP, a charismatic entrepreneur" who offers him "a dream opportunity" that soon slips out of his grasp, The Express Tribune first reported.

"JP lures Tyler in with the promise of a dream opportunity, but the arrangement soon descends into a violent downward spiral, testing the protagonist’s limits," the film's logline reads.

Apparatus marks one of Williams' first major projects following his breakout role on Heated Rivalry, which debuted on HBO Max and Crave on Nov. 29, 2025.

The gay hockey romance series was instantly popular and shot Williams and his costar, Connor Storrie, to international fame.
