Greta Lee and Wagner Moura star as parents whose family suddenly finds itself trapped inside their home in Netflix's new thriller, The Last House.
Netflix dropped the film's trailer on Monday, June 15, revealing Lee, 43, and Moura, 49, as a married couple whose children one day discover the front door won't open. The family soon learns no exits work — not even smashed windows — and that their neighbors are likewise sealed inside. As days turn into years, the neighborhood is overrun by wildlife and the family adapts by cultivating food indoors.
The trailer skips ahead to "day 1,183," when something finally seems to unlock the door and a desperate stranger appears begging for help. "A family of four are suddenly sealed inside their home with no way out, and must work together to survive against both their dwindling resources and the mysterious, looming threat that is keeping them trapped," reads the film's official synopsis.

Lee and Moura costar in The Last House with Gabriel Barbosa, Emma Ho, Noah Alexander Sosnowski, Riley Chung. The movie is directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk, Fast X) and written by Matthew Robinson (Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die, 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank).

The Last House comes during a major time in Lee and Moura's careers. Before the movie hits Netflix on Aug. 7, Lee will take to the big screen in a voice role for Toy Story 5. Moura, meanwhile, became the first Brazilian to win the Best Actor Golden Globe Award back in January for his performance in the movie The Secret Agent and was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars this past March. "I think people are going to recognize themselves in this film," he told Netflix's Tudum of The Last House. "Everybody is a parent or son or daughter. We have dysfunctional families or happy families … It goes beyond culture. It's an animal instinct we all have within ourselves — for protection, love, humor, and conflict, too."

Lee most recently appeared on the big screen in last year's A House of Dynamite and Tron: Ares. She also held a recurring role in The Morning Show's fourth season on Apple TV and starred in Taylor Swift's music video for the song "Opalite." Aside from The Secret Agent, Moura has starred in movies like Civil War and The Last Day in recent years.
