The Kansas City Chiefs have been a privileged bunch.
They are one of the rare teams that hasn't been forced to worry about their quarterback situation. Between winning Super Bowls and division titles, most teams have been watching the quarterback carousel turn.
In 2025, the Chiefs are getting a taste of what life is like on the other side of the NFL.
Already without Patrick Mahomes, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 15, the Chiefs turned to Gardner Minshew – until the backup exited with a knee injury of his own in Week 16.

Gardner Minshew injury update
Minshew is questionable to return with a knee injury.
The quarterback walked off the field gingerly and later went to the locker room, prompting the concern. Kansas City was forced to turn to their third quarterback of the season, Chris Oladokun, who had one career pass attempt prior to Week 16.
Kansas City has already been eliminated from playoff contention, meaning there are no postseason implications at stake.
