Multiple sclerosis has robbed Christina Applegate of her health, but not her signature wit.

David Faustino, who played her TV brother Bud Bundy for a decade on *Married… With Children*, recently shared an update on his costar-turned-confidante after she reportedly spent weeks in the hospital.

"I admire her being strong in the face of this, even though it's been a real blow," Faustino told *Us Weekly* of Applegate, who was diagnosed with MS, an autoimmune disease, in 2021. "It's been very hard for her, but she does keep her humor."

The *Anchorman* actress, who talks candidly about battling MS on her *MeSsy *podcast, has had a "dry, sarcastic sense of humor since the moment I met her," continued Faustino. "Nothing has changed… She gets through this with some humor, and that's kind of her way that she moves through it."

Over the last five years since Applegate's diagnosis, her TV brother has been a real source of support "as a person on her team that gives her as much love as I can," he told *Us Weekly*.

"I do a lot of visits with her. A lot of texting, a lot of checking in. A lot of funny just crap that we talk about. And that's all I can do, right? Give her my love," Faustino continued. "We do have deep convos when we sit. But we also keep the laughter [going] as well."

Faustino, a father of two, has been a longtime advocate for multiple sclerosis and a fixture at the annual Race to Erase MS galas since at least 1996, a year before *Married… With Children* went off the air after 11 seasons. Most recently, he attended the event with his girlfriend Lindsay Bronson and their 10-year-old daughter Ava Marie on June 5.

Applegate sent a message to her fans in April, following the reports of her lengthy hospitalization.

"Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes," she captioned an Instagram photo of her 2026 memoir, *You With the Sad Eyes*. "Health issues are a constant for me, but I'm a strong chick and I'm getting stronger and better every day. I'm taking a moment to focus on my health, but I'll be back with more to say soon enough."

In March 2025, Applegate revealed on *MeSsy* that since 2021 she had been hospitalized "upwards of 30 times from throwing up and diarrhea and pain… They've done every test known to man on me, put so much radiation into my body from CT scans to everything else."
