Robert Thomas, the St. Louis' Blues points leader through 47 games, was placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury on Thursday.

The center will be re-evaluated in two weeks, according to Blues president of hockey operations and general manager Doug Armstrong. Thomas missed Tuesday's 3-0 home win over the Carolina Hurricanes and did not practice on Thursday.

Thomas, who has appeared in 42 games this season, is tied for the team lead with 11 goals and has the team lead in assists (22) and points (33). He's nine points ahead of winger Pavel Buchnevich (24 points on eight goals, 16 assists).

The 26-year-old has spent his entire eight-year NHL career in St. Louis since he was a first-round draft pick (20th overall) in 2017, amassing 65-plus points in each of his last four seasons entering this one. He has 429 career points (118 goals, 311 assists) in 508 regular-season games.

The Blues are five points back of the final Western Conference wild-card spot entering Thursday's action. They next play Friday against the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning.
