Ali Larter is shedding a little light on the not-so-glamorous side of shooting *Landman*. **
The actress, who plays the fierce Angela Norris, revealed that she was eaten alive by fire ants while filming a scene for season 2 of Taylor Sheridan's popular oil drama.**
"We had a scene this season where it was like, it's the end of the day, we have a huge crew, it's high pressure, and we are rushing to get this shot," Larter said on Wednesday's episode of *Late Night With Seth Meyers, *noting that the crew was trying to capture an “epic Texas sunset” before it disappeared.

"I'm standing there in this wide open field, barefoot, jean shorts, and they're rushing, rushing, rushing, and I hear, 'Action!'" she recalled. "And I'm standing there, and I'm looking at the horses, and all of a sudden I feel something crawling between my toes. And I look down and there are fire ants biting my toes."**
But before she could freak out, she could feel her costar Billy Bob Thornton walking up behind her. "I'm like, 'I just have to live through this,'" Larter remembered. "So I lean to him and I go into the scene, and I do the scene with him, and all of a sudden I hear, 'Cut!'"

It was then that series director Stephen Kay approached the pair. "He's like, 'Ali, you were so emotional!' You were so connected!' And I was like, 'I'm crying because I was getting bit by fire ants!'" she exclaimed. "And I was scared they were going to yell at me because they weren't going to get the shot!"**
The ants weren't playing around, either. "I mean, it's crazy," Larter said. "I had welts on my feet. I mean, this show takes a toll on this bod."

Larter's Angela has been put through the wringer on the second season of *Landman*, from getting into an explosive battle with Thornton's Tommy over her period to getting arrested for incapacitating two health inspectors during a visit to her local nursing home.
"Honestly, [Angela's] the one in the right!" Larter told ** about the scene, in which her character got in trouble with inspectors for giving alcohol to the home's elderly residents.
"I think it's so sad when you think about how many people that are in this prime of their life, and they're not being treated like that," she said. "They're being treated like infantiles."
Larter continued, "They should be able to have a cocktail if they want to have a cocktail, and if they want to have a little dirty dancing, go for it! Enjoy your golden years!"
The *Landman* season 2 finale airs Sunday on Paramount+. Watch Larter recall her painful run-in with fire ants in the clip above.
